LEGS goes to Charm School, Art School and Does Yoga....**

Hiya Blog:

Tank Girlz Weather Report: It feels warmer in the house this morning than it did yesterday when I got up- I suspect because the wind isn't blowing through the house.  It is supposed to be cold all week, the upside: Its supposed to be sunny too. Queen Di called and asked if she should bring Capri's and sandals for the beach- it was really hard not to laugh at her.

The ARMY swish pants struck again......I am awake at a very unGODly hour.

LEGS' parents are coming to town tonight.  So I have lots of cleaning and organizing to do.  I miss my bed.  Since we were on the road we weren't sleeping in it, we have only been in it a week, and now we are giving it to LEGS' parents for this week.  I am not about to make his parents sleep on the futon.  After they leave the movers are supposed to come......I am going to miss my bed.

LEGS has trouble with curbs. LMAO!

Today we went to the travel office to set things up for the move.  On the way in we ran into a friend, so LEGS went ahead of me and started to conduct business while I chatted it up with our friend.  The next thing I knew one of the ladies at the Travel Office was aggressively pointing her finger at LEGS and firmly giving him information.  Once I saw this I decided whatever she was telling him I should probably know.  I excused myself from my current conversation to eavesdrop on LEGS'.

She was telling him not to bring all of the weight he is allowed.  Let me explain.  Based on your rank you get a certain amount of weight that the military will move for free, anything over that you have to pay for.  We are allowed 12,000 lbs.  Our move from Alaska was 7900 lbs, and we really haven't acquired much down here but we rounded up to 9,000.  Better to over than under.

Once the lady saw me and realized that I was with LEGS, she first complimented me on my hair and then waited on us hand and foot and catered to our every need.  So.....while LEGS sat there on the computer and filed our move I chatted it up with all the Travel Office Ladies.....it was an incredibly fun afternoon and one of the most pleasant experiences I have had thus far with the ARMY and their bureaucracy.  When we left she assured us that it has been a pleasure working with us and she will be in contact.  LEGS calls me his 'Travel Office Lucky charm.' But I assured him its just all about being charming.......And that folks is how its done.

I did find out that those 'Hold Packages' I had mentioned before (you know the ones that are supposed to arrive early with your essential things before the rest of your things get there will arrive ONLY 10 days prior to everything else....What is the point?

SO that settles it, we will not have any hold package items and will only have what we can pack in our suitcases in NEVER NEVER LAND for 6 weeks.  This shall be interesting.

The movers are scheduled to come January 24th (this has not been verified).  My Government passport has not arrived yet, and Karmella's paperwork is not complete either.  Crossing my fingers it all gets here soon!

LEGS renewed his civilian Passport,  we mailed Alaska the notary for the Title for the Jetta, and he picked up his FAA test results paperwork.  (The FAA test results basically say he can fly civilian with his current knowledge and experience).

SO.....I finally got LEGS to go to Yoga.  He liked it and did pretty well, although the balance exercises were hard for him.  It was pretty funny to see a 6' 2" guy attempting some of the poses........

I have been wanting this program where I could do my own artwork for my blog.  LEGS downloaded it yesterday and got me a mouse.  While I was in the garage working on the Wardrobes this is what he drew for me- I will now be the wallpaper for my laptop. Isn't he sweet? That is me and him- please take note of his lips......LOLZ!

And I worked some more on my Wardrobes.  In NEVER NEVER LAND, the German housing does not come with closets.  So LEGS and I acquired some Wardrobes issued from the military in the 1980's.  Of course they were not to my liking, so I have painted them two different colors and plan on distressing them....kind of a shabby and sheek look.....here is the project so far......I painted the first color on then dry brushed the second color on so that it would show through....the plan is to then distress them.  This works in the military lifestyle because if they get scratched or nicked it will only add to the character of the piece.

No random thoughts today.....I was too busy to daydream.....

Tank Girl Over & Out....Just another day in the life of an unlikely military wife.......**

  1. Buying clothes in Germany is a lot of fun, just to warn you. You'll have those filled in no time.
