Fall Back....**

I LOVE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS- in the fall-LEGS and I had a productive day yesterday, while he studied, I went through the house and did some major dusting and glass cleaning.  He built my end tables and I was able to finish the theater room.  It has been difficult to find lighting that will work in there because the projector set up is so sensitive to light, but the two lamps we purchased on Saturday work beautifully.

I brought out my Grandmother's depression glass, and other neat stemware I have collected over the years and arranged them on my bar cart. I pulled out some other knick-knacks that haven't seen the light of day since the move and put those out as well.

I made up the bed......here is a full picture of the bedroom semi-finished- I still want to add more pillows to the bed, curtains, and I want to add some flair to the four poster bed but all that will have to be accomplished after I learn to sew.....

Since we are moving and I don't want to put any more holes in the wall- I rested some pictures against the wall on the end tables to make them more visible..........

I don't want dishes that match perfectly because stuff breaks when you move, so I have a few different sets of things that look good together.  One idea that I have had was to swap a piece of dishware with the friends I make in each place we get stationed.

Around 4pm I decided I better get a shower and make myself presentable for the day.  I skyped with my sissy Megan and my Seester Rachel.  We mostly discussed my black lab Jake.  Megan has agreed to take Jake for me while we are in Germany.  Its breaking my heart because I have a keen affection to that dog and I don't want to give him up.  Sometimes I wonder if he knows???  I love my sisters, I don't know what I would do without them- they are some of my best friends.  After I skyped with them I skyped with my Mommy.  It feels so good to talk to family, because even though I am a happy traveler I do miss them a lot.  Megan showed me the snow in AK, I was jealous- its been so cold down here it might be worth it if there was snow.

We invited some of our friends over for leftover chili.  I felt bad because they said they had never seen our house, of course at this point I was proud to show them, but before we just didn't have it set up and unpacked so it was embarrassing.  Down here in the South they have a very aggressive breed of flies.  They get in your house, crawl all over everything and harass you to the point of going crazy.  The only way LEGS and I could deal with them was to put fly paper in all the places they hung out- in addition to LEGS the fly slayer- we were able to eat in peace.   One place that they liked to congregate was the window next to the kitchen table, so we put fly paper on that window.  I have been meaning to take it down, but as soon as it warms up the flies will rise again.  Our friend John basically rested his arm directly onto the flypaper and when he took his arm down all the fly body parts had stuck to his hoodie.  It was so gross and humiliating!!! (but at the same time kinda funny because I don't know anybody else who would do this)

After our friends left last night we were hanging out in the kitchen.  And LEGS tells the dogs to "Seatz!" I was like "LEGS- what does Seatz mean?" He was like it means sit in German.  I laughed so hard I cried.  I was like no it doesn't "Platz" means sit in German.  So now I am thinking I am going to Germany with a husband that makes up words "in German" how ridonkulous!!!**

  1. very cool, just when you get your house together it is time to move. Maybe I should wait and not do mine in case Mike gets a notion to move. Nah we are here for the most part. Your changing your decorating styles, be careful it sneaks up on you. I have been downsizing as well and finally, if you can believe it getting rid of most of my country items. Yeah I know it took me long enough (not all) but most. I love MYDBG! The Mommy (aka) Carson ;-)
