I purchased some Italian Bread at the commissary, hoping to use it as part of the meal with the Lasagna- but life happens and I didn't use it as soon as I should have.
So instead of serving with butter or making Garlic Bread out of it- I decided to make a bruschetta/crouton type thing to serve instead.
What you will need:
Italian Bread
Olive Oil
Fresh Garlic
Italian Seasoning
Parmesan Cheese
I took the Italian Bread, sliced it and laid it out on a cookie sheet. I minced up the Garlic and put it in a small dish with a liberal amount of Olive Oil. Then I added Italian Seasoning and mixed it all up. I brushed a liberal amount of the mix on each slice of bread. I poured some extra Olive Oil to the pieces of bread that looked a little dry. Then I lightly covered them with Parmesan Cheese. I broiled them in the oven until they were a nice golden brown.
I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out because it was just experimental but it tasted very yummy when I sampled it..............**
Good work, we'll have a cook-off when I come see you guys in Germany.
